When are dungeness crab in season?

The season for Dungeness crab runs from approximately November through June. A region's local department of wildlife and fishing regulates several aspects of the season, sets guidelines on fishing and requires reports to be made each season.

The Dungeness crab inhabits the waters near the Pacific Ocean shore in the United States, especially along the Washington shoreline. They are also seen in the bays and estuaries of the state of Alaska. They range in size from 6 to 7 inches on average but can reach lengths as long as 10 inches.They have purple, gray or brown shells and claw tips that are white.
