"The Rowan Tree," "Joy," "The Elizabehan Oakapple Tree" and " The Jacobean Idyll" are crewel embroidery kits designed by Phillipa Turnbull. The kits make it possible to create replicas of historical embroidery works.

The resulting embroideries depict plant and animal themes on a light-colored foundation. The embroidered cloth may serve as a part of a decorative pillowcase or a framed picture. The kits contain linen twill printed with the design outline, wool, crewel needles and detailed instructions.

Crewel embroidery is an old technique, which uses woolen threads. The oldest examples are from the early Medieval period, such as the Bayeux Tapestry.
