To crop a photo in Photoshop, import an image into Photoshop, and use the Crop tool to crop the image to the desired size. You need to open Photoshop and have an image ready.
- Open Photoshop
Click on the Photoshop icon to launch the program. Photoshop can take a few minutes to load if you have not opened the program recently.
- Import an image
With Photoshop opened in the background, open the folder that contains your image. Select the image, and drag it onto the blank canvas in Photoshop. You can also select File in the menu bar, and click Open. Browse for the image, and click Open to view the image in Photoshop.
- Select the Crop tool
Locate the Crop tool in the toolbar on the left-hand side. If you do not recognize the tool icon, hover your cursor over each icon until you see a tool tip display the name of the Crop tool. Click the Crop tool icon to select it.
- Crop the image
With the Crop tool selected, click the left mouse button, and drag out an area over the image. Let go of the mouse button. Next, click and drag the handles on the cropped area to adjust the size. Once you have the size adjusted, press Enter to crop the image.
