What is the cure for folliculitis?

Treat folliculitis with antibiotic creams such as mupirocin, antifungal creams, shampoos or pills for pityrosporum folliculitis, or anti-inflammatory creams or pills for eosinophilic folliculitis, according to Mayo Clinic. For large boils or carbuncles, a doctor may recommend draining pus from the area with a small incision.
A less-invasive treatment for folliculitis is placing a warm compress made with saltwater or Burow's solution on the impacted area, explains WebMD. This remedy can be performed at home without a doctor. If the inflammation does not decrease over the course of two weeks; becomes red, warm, swollen and painful; or the patient develops a fever, consult a doctor.
