The Spanish are famous for the siesta, which refers to the period between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. when locals retire to rest and prepare for the afternoon and evening. The siesta has spread from Spain to numerous countries in South America, the Philippines and the Middle East. Bullfighting is a Spanish custom that dates back to the times of ancient Romans. Going for tapas is a custom embraced by most Spanish people, as it blends grabbing a bite to eat with having a laugh with friends.
