How do you cut a papaya?

To cut a papaya, slice the fruit in half and scoop out the seeds. Remove the skin from the papaya halves and cut the chunks into the desired size.

1. Slice the papaya in half

   Place the ripe, rinsed and patted-dry papaya on top of a clean cutting board. Use a long, sharp knife to slice the papaya in half lengthwise.

2. Scoop out the papaya seeds

   Use a large metal spoon to remove the papaya seeds from the center of the fruit.

3. Remove the skin

   Hold one papaya half in your hand, and use your other hand to slide a sharp, medium-sized knife downwards between the papaya fruit and its skin using long, steady strokes.

4. Cut the papaya flesh into chunks

   Use the knife to cut the papaya chunks into desired size.
