Who makes Danby appliances?

Danby appliances are actually manufactured by the Amana corporation. As of 2014, Amana is currently owned by the Whirlpool company and was previously owned by Maytag. Wine coolers, compact refrigerators, gas ranges and full-size laundry equipment are sold under the Danby name.

Danby appliances are themselves sold under several names, including Arcticaire, Danby Designer, Danby Premiere, Danby Diplomat, Silhouette and Simplicity, as well as under private store brand names. Danby's headquarters are in Findlay, Ohio, with Danby Canada based in Guelph, Ontario.

Amana also makes appliances sold under several brand names, including Caloric, Litton, Maytag, Modern Maid, Speed Queen, Econowash, Sunray and Viking.
