The Datura plant prefers to grow in full sun conditions with regular watering and weekly fertilizing. It is a fast growing plant that needs yearly repotting because of growth, according to About.com. It can grow between 5 and 8 feet high. Flowers are large and trumpet-shaped, either in white or purple hues. Depending on the cultivar selected, there can be single blooms or double blooms. Datura plants do not react well to cold climates and are killed by frost.
