Debenhams is a retail department store. It has stores in 178 locations all across the United Kingdom and Ireland. As of 2015, it owns a chain in Denmark known as Magasin du Nord.

Debenhams has franchises in other countries. It started operating in 1778 in London as a drapers store. The store became Debenhams Limited in 1905. It sells a range of clothing, furniture and other household items.

As of 2015, Debenhams recently refurbished the store in Oxford Street, which has aluminum tiles on the outer walls. These give the effect of rippling in the wind. The company is also in the process of building 14 new stores. Debenhams has a website for shopping online and an app to use on a mobile phone.
