What denomination is Mike Murdock Ministries?

Mike Murdock leads The Wisdom Center, an independent, non-denominational megachurch in Haltom, Texas. Like many televangelists, Mike Murdock has not been ordained as a pastor by any mainstream Christian denomination. Though he is sometimes associated with Southern Baptist or Pentecostal churchgoers, he is not a member of either church.

Most denominations require pastors to acquire graduate-level education in theology or divinity as part of a lengthy ordination process prior to leading a church. Mike Murdock dropped out of college in 1966, making him ineligible to lead a congregation. Like fellow televangelists Benny Hinn and Joel Osteen, Mike Murdock is a self-proclaimed pastor.
