Dr. Mike Murdock is a televangelist and author. He heads the Mike Murdock Evangelistic Association and has solicited donations for the association through his television program and seminars. Murdock has faced some criticism for living a lavish lifestyle while claiming to center his work on fighting poverty.

Murdock has appeared as a televangelist since the early 1980s, when he got his start with Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker on "The PTL Club" television show. His operations have been based in Texas: first in Argyle, then in Denton. He studied at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie but left before obtaining a degree, so it is unclear why he refers to himself as a doctor.
