Does Medicare cover dental?

As of 2014, Medicare does not cover most dental care, supplies or procedures such as cleanings, fillings, dentures, tooth extractions, dental plates or other dental devices. Medicare Part A does pay for certain dental services received while in a hospital.
These include services that are integral to a covered service, such as reconstruction of the jaw after an accident or extractions done before radiation treatment. Under certain circumstances, Medicare pays for oral examinations before heart valve replacement or kidney transplantation. Medicare Part A can pay for inpatient hospital care for complicated or emergency dental procedures, although the dental care itself is not covered.
