Born Desiderio Alberto Arnaz IV to Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz Jr. was born on January 19, 1953, in Los Angeles, California. He was born the same day Lucy's television baby, Little Ricky, was born on the couple's situation comedy, "I Love Lucy."

Lucy's real-life pregnancy with young Desi was written into the script of the television show. After his birth, the magazine TV Guide featured the baby Desi on its cover with the caption "Lucy's $50,000,000 baby." Desi and Lucy already had a daughter, Lucie, born in 1951.

Desi Arnaz Jr. followed in his parents' footsteps as an entertainer, even acting in his mother's television show as a teenager. His wife, Amy, died in January 2015.
