American singer and actress Nancy Sandra Sinatra's mother Nancy Barbato was born on September 11, 1917. Barbato was singer and actor Frank Sinatra's first wife. They were married from 1939 to 1951.

Born Nanicia Rose Barbato in Jersey City, New Jersey, Barbato and Frank met while Barbato was on vacation at Long Branch on the Jersey shore. Barbato had two other children with Frank: Frank, Jr., who is a singer, songwriter and conductor, and Tina, who is an actress and movie producer. After Barbato and Frank divorced, she never remarried. Barbato passed away on her birthday in 2004 at the age of 87. She is buried at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alameda County, California.
