Anne and Rick Steves got divorced in 2010. Together, they have two adult children, Andy Steves and Jackie Steves. As of 2015, Rick lives in Edmonds, Washington.

Rick Steves hosts "Rick Steves' Europe," a travel show on American Public Television. He also hosts "Travel with Rick Steves," a public travel radio show. He has written a variety of travel guides. Steves began his career by teaching travel classes at the University of Washington, his alma mater.

His wrote his first edition of the travel book series "Europe Through the Back Door" in 1979. He self-published the title and opened a storefront business of the same name.
