In 2013, Bridgestone tires were recalled due to abnormalities and irregularities in the tire. The company received complaints of leakage and poor inflation.
Leakage, poor inflation and other issues can cause a tire to fail. When a tire fails, it puts occupants of a vehicle at serious risk of an accident. The company recalled over 40 types of tires that year, and it affected drivers around the world.
In 2000, Bridgestone also recalled 6.5 million tires. This recall came about after nearly 100 people filed lawsuits claiming that the tires had caused accidents which resulted in injuries or death. This recall only affected 15-inch tires.
