The Parke County Covered Bridge Festival starts on the second Friday in October each year and lasts for 10 days. It is the biggest festival in Indiana and one of the biggest in the United States.

The Covered Bridge Festival has been based on the courthouse lawn in Rockville, Indiana, since it began in 1957. It celebrates Parke County's 31 covered bridges, and its yearly attendance is more than 2 million people. It includes food sold by county non-profit organizations that use the funds raised to promote their organizations and a big tent and streets near the courthouse with vendors and crafters.
