Greta Van Susteren underwent an eye-lift in 2002 to remove bags that had formed under each eye. The procedure was carried out prior to the debut of her Fox News television program.

Greta Van Susteren opted to undergo cosmetic surgery during the month-long hiatus between her stint on CNN and the premier of On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.

Van Susteren made mention of the surgery when she addressed viewers on her first night at Fox News. She also discussed the eye-lift during an appearance on Good Morning America. She admitted to possibly being the first news anchor to talk about undergoing plastic surgery and said that her husband was supportive of her decision to have the procedure.
