Henry Hudson discovered the Hudson Strait and the Hudson Bay, both of which are named after the famous explorer. Despite discovering a number of landmarks, he never found what he set out to find.
Henry Hudson was born in England during the latter part of the 16th century. He spent most of his life trying to find a path to Asia that was free of ice. He made a total of four voyages in his life. The first two were unsuccessful, while the third led him to the river that is now known as the Hudson River in the United States. On his fourth journey, he discovered more waterways that later adopted his name. He never uncovered the direct passage that he envisioned.
