Where did the Hopewell Indians live?
By Forinfos - 25/02/2025 - 0 comments
The Hopewell Indians lived in Ohio and parts of the Eastern and Midwestern United States, including Wisconsin, New York and Mississippi. They lived in thatched wattle and daub homes, raising crops and producing tools and pottery.
The Hopewell traded their goods extensively and made tools and crafts with the materials that they obtained from other areas of North America. Sites of Hopewell settlements can be found in southern Ohio and Indiana. Because it is not known what the Hopewell Indians called themselves, they were named after the landowner who owned the land in which the first Hopewell settlement mound was found in the 1800s.
