Why did Jeff Gordon get a divorce?

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Jeff Gordon's ex-wife, when filing court documents for divorce, claimed that her husband had caused the breakup through relationships with other women. Gordon had previously been linked by supermarket tabloids of having a romantic relationship with the model Deanna Merryman.

According to an article in Sports Illustrated, Jeff Gordon and Brooke Sealey's divorce was finalized on June 12, 2003. The Orlando Sentinel article states that there were rumors that Gordon had been romantically linked to another model, Amanda Church, prior to the divorce being finalized. Gordon subsequently married the model Ingrid Vandebosch in November 2006.
