Jennifer Nettles and her first husband, Todd Van Sickle, divorced due to disharmony in their marriage. Career obligations, such as increased touring for Nettles, put pressure on their marriage, and the couple decided to divorce in 2007.

Jennifer Nettles and Todd Van Sickle got married in 1998. Nettles is the lead vocalist for Sugarland, a country music duo. Sugarland's increasing popularity, concert and performance gigs, as well as touring caused a rift between Nettles and her then husband Todd. They drifted apart and in 2007; they decided to divorce amicably. Nettles found love again and in 2011, and she got married to Justin Miller.
