When did King Khufu rule Egypt?

King Khufu's reign as the pharaoh of Egypt is estimated to have been between the years 2589 and 2566 B.C., but the years of his reign are debated by historians. His reign was during the Fourth Dynasty of ancient Egypt, which lasted from 2613 to 2498 B.C.

King Khufu is credited for being the founder of the Giza Plateau and for having the Great Pyramid of Giza built during his reign. The only surviving image of the likeness of King Khufu is an ivory statue that stands 3 inches in height. King Khufu's reign followed the reign of his father King Sheferu. Khufu is known in other ancient cultures by multiple names.
