How long did Khufu rule ancient Egypt?

Khufu ruled ancient Egypt for about 24 years. This Forth-Dynasty pharaoh lived from 2589 to 2566 B.C. and is known as the builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Sometimes called Cheops, Khufu was known as a cruel and ruthless pharaoh who raided Nubia and Libya. Khufu's father, King Sneferu was another important pyramid builder. Khufu observed the construction of his father's pyramids and was later known for his skills in organizing and leading workers. Scholars believe that his builders were not slaves but instead working to pay their taxes. Khufu's son, Djedefre, became his immediate successor after he died.
