Did the musical version of "High School Musical" play on Broadway?

The live-action version of Disney's "High School Musical," entitled "High School Musical on Stage!", has never been featured on a Broadway stage, as of 2015. However, it is a frequently performed play in high schools and has had several openings across North America, including in Atlanta and Nova Scotia.

"High School Musical on Stage!" completed a yearlong U.S. tour that began in August 2007 and ended in August 2008. Before this tour, the play was performed at the Pacific Repertory Theater's School of the Dramatic Arts in California in February 2007. The play was based on the Disney Channel original movie and was adapted for the stage by David Simpatico and Bryan Louiselle.
