What did the Pueblo Indians eat?

Pueblo Indians ate crops they grew, including wheat, peppers, beans, squash and corn. They also made paper-thin bread, called piki, by spreading out corn paste in a thin layer and baking it on a flat stone that was positioned at the edge of the fire.
Modern Pueblo Indians eat and grow many of the same foods that their ancestors grew and ate, including corn, squash and beans. They also make piki bread from blue corn, and they dry and then later spice their food with peppers. They hunt rabbits and deer, and they eat domesticated animals such as chickens and cows.
