What did Rosalind Franklin discover?

Rosalind Franklin is best known for discovering the structure of DNA and pioneering the use of X-ray diffraction. Franklin, a chemist, was born in 1920 in England and was educated at Cambridge University.

While working at King's College London in the biophysics unit, Franklin began studying DNA. She took pictures of DNA fibers and made the discovery that there were two forms of DNA, dry "A" and wet "B." During her study of "B," she took a picture that served as evidence in finding the structure of DNA. The image was created using an X-ray exposure machine that Franklin perfected herself.
