Sammy Davis Jr. was married three times, first to Loray White, then to May Brit and Altovise Gore. While he dated actress Kim Novak in the 1950's, the couple never married.

Sammy Davis Jr. was briefly married to singer Loray White, then married Swedish actress May Britt in 1960. The couple married despite being an interracial couple at a time when their marriage was illegal in 31 states. The couple divorced at the end of the 1960's after having a biological daughter and adopting two sons. Sammy Davis Jr. married dancer Altovise Gore in 1970, and the couple adopted a son and remained married until Mr. Davis Jr. died in 1990 from throat cancer.
