When did the telenovela "India" first come out?

"India: A Love Story," also known as "Caminho das Índias" in Portuguese, is a popular Brazilian telenovela that began airing in 2009. Created by Gloria Perez, the show examines differences in Eastern and Western society through the prism of a romance between an upper-class woman and a Dalit, or "untouchable."

The telenovela stars Juliana Paes as Maya, a traditional Indian girl from a wealthy family, and Marcio Garcia as Bahuan, a former member of the untouchable caste who now studies and works in America. The show has won numerous awards as of 2015, including Best Telenovela at the 2009 Emmy International and four awards for best telenovela at other Brazilian television awards shows.
