American country musician Waylon Jennings died February 13, 2002, at his home in Chandler, Arizona. He passed away in his sleep due to diabetic complications.
Jennings was a singer and songwriter known for his work in the outlaw country and country music genres. He formed a rockabilly band, the Waylors, and later joined the country supergroup the Highway Men. He, along with other artists, released the album "Wanted! The Outlaws," the first platinum country music album. Jennings' music influenced alternative country artists such as Hank Williams Jr. and the Marshall Tucker Band. He had six children, several of whom have become musicians themselves.
