How did women wear jeans in the 1950s?

In the 1950's it was not common to find women wearing jeans unless they were working on a farm. When jeans were worn, they tended to have a high-wasted fit without any cinching.

Groups of teen girls would sometimes be seen wearing rolled-up loose jeans with baseball jackets. Denim was banned in many schools during the 1950's because of Hollywood's use of jeans to portray teenage rebellion. Women, in the post-war culture, reverted back to wearing more feminine clothing as opposed to the 1940's war time inspired menswear fashion. The few women who chose to wear pants wore high-wasted, slim fitting cigarette and capri pants.
