What are some different types of pears?

Bosc pears are the preferred pear by many and are famous for their soft and grainy pear texture and taste. Anjou pears are popular for healthy snacking or canning. Bartlett pears are often used for cooking or making pear butter for toast. The Asian pear is very crunchy and a bit like an apple. Comice pears are very flavorful and are great snacking pears. Concorde pears are wonderful for cooking or snacking because they hold their shape well.
