How do you disconnect a gas stove from a home?

To disconnect a gas stove in a home, ensure that the gas and electric are turned off and unplug the unit. Pull it away from the wall, then disconnect the copper pipe with two wrenches.
Shutting off the gas line is critical before removing the stove. The shut-off may be located in a basement or at the gas tank. Plywood placed on the floor will protect it from damage when pulling out the stove. To disconnect the gas line, use a screwdriver to remove the cover plate, then loosen and slide back the nut. After further distancing the unit from the wall, disconnect the gas line at the coupling, making sure not to damage the piping. The stove can then be removed.
