Are distance degrees the same as on-campus degrees from the same school?

For those schools and subjects where the curriculum covered is the same both on campus and online, the validity of a distance degree is identical to that of an on-campus degree, despite potential differences in teaching methods. However, not all employers recognize this fact.

Distance learning degrees have a reputation for being less rigorous, and while this is demonstrably not true for programs run by regionally accredited universities, there are still some who question the validity of degrees overseen by the Distance Education and Training Council. It is therefore important to ensure that the chosen degree is accredited in the same way for distance learning as on-campus to retain parity.
