What is the Dog Registry of America?

Formerly the U.S. Kennel Club, the Dog Registry of America (DRA) is a registration and documentation service for dog breeders and owners. It is inclusive of all breeds. The DRA uses a unique classification system distinguishing pure breeds from other classes of canines.

The DRA set up its classification system to recognize the diverse breeds that other registries often exclude. Dogs may be enrolled by completing an application and paying a one-time fee. An official registration certificate is then issued with the breed name, class, unique registration number and pet and owner names. The certificate is valid for the lifetime of the pet.
