What are "duck faces"?

"Duck face" is a term for the facial expression formed when a person puckers their lips in a way that looks like a duck's beak. Duck face, also known as "Myspace face," is also associated with "selfies" posted to social networking sites such as Facebook and Myspace.

The expression became widely popularized with the mainstream rise of social networking sites. Several notable precursors to the term appear, one of which is from the television program "Full House" that featured an episode in which a student who makes the facial expression is nicknamed "Duckface." The "Blue Steel" look from the 2001 film Zoolander is also likened to the duck face.
