Duct tape is flammable. Duct tape is made of various woven fabrics for enhanced resilience. These fabrics may include polyester, cotton, nylon, rayon or fiberglass.
The most common modern widths for duct tape are 1.9 inches and 2 inches. The largest known duct tape rolls produced had a width of 3.78 inches, a diameter of 64 inches and a total weight of 650 pounds and were made for the Henkel chemical company.
The earliest uses for duct tape included increasing shoe strength, decorating clothing, and preventing or delaying steel cables from corrosion. This duct tape was different from modern duct tape and consisted of long strips of cotton duct cloth.
