What is an E-Z Read tape measure?

E-Z Read is a trademarked type of measuring tape. It is designed to be as easy as possible to read and has all measurements marked down to one eighth of an inch.

As well as written markings down to one eighth of an inch, E-Z Read measuring tapes also have 12-inch markings in a black box with black numerals, as well as stud markings. Stud markings are marked every 16 inches by a black box with a red numeral in it. 16 inches is the standard distance that the studs of a wall should be set apart, center to center.
