The ICS 200 exam covers the basic information included in the ICS 200 course. These include understanding agency policy, how to assess an incident situation, establishing objectives, selecting strategy to achieve the objectives, applying tactics to achieve the strategy and follow up as needed.
The ICS, or Incident Command System, is a federal program developed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, to assist those people who may be called upon during times of an emergency incident. The course is available, along with many other related courses, as a self-directed independent study through the FEMA website. Users must have taken and passed ICS-100 before taking ICS-200.
