What region do Yelm Community Schools serve?

Yelm Community Schools serve the city of Yelm and surrounding areas in Western Washington. The district is composed of six elementary schools, two middle schools, Yelm High School, an alternative education program and four preschools. Included in Yelm Community Schools are the towns of McKenna and Rainer.

Yelm is located roughly 60 miles south of Seattle, near the joint military base Ft. Lewis/McChord Air Force base. The city of Yelm has about 8,000 residents according to the 2010 U.S. census. The communities around Yelm are mostly rural and utilize the Yelm Community Schools. The district currently serves approximately 5,400 students in all its facilities.
