When are elections held in Ontario, Canada?

Municipal elections in Ontario, Canada are held once every 4 years on the fourth Monday of October. This was changed by the Good Government Act, 2009, before which elections were held every 3 years. If the fourth Monday of October happens to be a holiday, elections are held on the next day that is not.

Canadian citizens must be at least 18 years of age to vote in the municipal election. To be eligible for the Ontario election specifically, they must also be either an Ontario resident, property owner or tenant. They may also be the spouse or same-sex partner of a property owner or tenant to qualify.
