Elements in whole cow's milk include calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus and sodium. Cow's milk also has zinc, copper, manganese, selenium and fluoride. Calcium is an important element in the support of healthy bones. Muscles, nerves and the cardiovascular system also need calcium to work well.
Iron helps the blood get life-giving oxygen into the cells of the body. This is because it makes up a large part of hemoglobin, a pigment that actually carries the oxygen from the lungs to other sites in the body. Magnesium is necessary for hundreds of chemical processes that support the right functioning of many systems in the body. Phosphorus works closely with calcium to support healthy teeth and bones.
