What is the Elf Yourself campaign?

Elf Yourself is an annual holiday marketing campaign conducted by Office Depot and OfficeMax. The campaign consists of a website where visitors can upload a picture of themselves or others and have it superimposed onto a dancing elf.

As of 2105, participants can save their dancing elf as a video or share it through social media. The campaign began in 2006 and has proven very popular. The site is only available during the holiday season each year and usually has hundreds of millions of views while it is available. Elf Yourself began solely as an OfficeMax promotional campaign prior to the 2013 merger of the two companies.
