TRICARE for Life insurance is available to those who are TRICARE eligible and receive Medicare Parts A and B, according to the TRICARE website. TRICARE-eligible individuals include uniformed service members, members of the National Guard, Medal of Honor recipients and the families, survivors and former spouses of those listed.

As TRICARE is a military-based health insurance plan, another category of people who are eligible for TRICARE benefits include those registered in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System, or DEERS.
