Is emotional stress a cause of angiodema?
By Forinfos - 10/12/2025 - 0 comments
Stress or anxiety is a common trigger of hereditary angioedema, reports WebMD. Mild illnesses, injury, light physical activity and certain medications are also common triggers of the condition.
Hereditary angioedema causes swelling in specific areas of the body, including the hands, feet or face. The condition also causes dangerous swelling in the airways and painful swelling in the stomach, according to WebMD. It can be treated with the drugs Cinryze, Berinert, Ruconest, Friazyr and Kalbitor.
Although the condition can be mistaken for an allergy, hereditary angioedema is a genetic disease. Patients with the condition are unlikely to respond to treatments for allergies, reminds WebMD.
