Why is employment legislation important?

By Forinfos - 21/11/2025 - 0 comments

Employment legislation is important because it provides protection and job security for employees against malpractices in the workplace. Significant employment laws in the United States include the Fair Labor Standards Act, Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Immigration and Nationality Act.

The scope of employment legislation covers all aspects of the employment relationship excluding those that involve collective bargaining and negotiation procedures. Specifically, employment legislation covers the areas of wage regulations, unemployment compensation, worker's compensation, safety in the workplace and retirement income insurance. Employment laws also protect workers from sexual, age, racial, gender, ethnic and religious discrimination.
