Why is the Legislative Branch important?

The Legislation Branch is important because it enacts legislation and has the right to declare war if the need arises. It also has the authorization to approve or reject any presidential appointment and other investigative powers.

The Legislative Branch forms the Congress and consists of the Senate and the House of Representatives. In total, it has 535 voting members and six non-voting members. Senators are elected by people to a 6-year term, and the Vice President acts as its President. Members of the House of Representatives are elected every 2 years. Each member must be 25 years of age and a resident of that state.
