How do you empty trash in Gmail?

To empty the trash in Gmail, go to the Trash folder, and click on "Empty Trash Now." You must be logged into your Gmail account to perform these actions.

  1. Log into Gmail

    Log into your account using your Gmail user ID and password.

  2. Find the Gmail trash

    Click on the Trash option located in the inbox sidebar to the left. If it isn't there, click on More. Check the drop-down list for Trash. It is usually located below the Spam folder.

  3. Delete the messages

    Click on "Empty Trash Now," which is located above the messages in the trash folder. This removes all messages in the trash.
