How energy efficient are General Electric stoves?

By Forinfos - 16/06/2025 - 0 comments

No General Electric residential stove is certified as energy efficient by the Department of Energy's Energy Star program. Energy Start does not certify stoves by any manufacturer as energy-efficient appliances as of 2015.

A General Electric stove equipped with induction stove elements is a more efficient choice for stovetop cooking tasks than ranges using traditional electric elements or gas burners. Induction elements can be up to 90 percent efficient, compared to traditional electric elements that have a peak efficiency of 65 percent. Both electric options beat gas burners, as only 50 percent of the energy input into a gas burner becomes useful heat for cooking.
