What are Eskimo clothes made from?

Eskimo clothes are made from the skins of animals killed for food. Caribou skin, with it's hollow hair, provides the best protection, because it is warm and light.
The most basic item an Eskimo wears is a hooded fur coat, called a Parka. Two to three layers of boots are worn as well. The outer layer is made of sealskin, which is waterproof. Clothes can also be made from the pelts of seals, caribous, foxes, or polar bears. Even seal guts are sometimes used for waterproof jackets. To protect their hands, thick mittens made of sheepskin are worn. Most Eskimo attire is home-made.
